How to Create a Welcoming Home

A lot of people have very little idea about having a welcoming home, most people think it is all about the size, and I keep telling them as a professional that it is never about the size, no matter how small your place is, you can always have your own little heaven in it and it would wow your friends and family whenever they visit, you see, a home has an impression it gives, a distinct impression, it is almost like an air it breaths out, some houses breathe out that jail or cellar scent, some breath out such negativity, some just give the impression of carefulness because of the owners misinterpretation of beauty and peace for luxury and stress for the cleaner, trust me, have been to a lot of houses, apartments and the likes, you see all sorts, sometimes I wonder how can a person stay there. This article is just a brief highlight of how one can lighten up the mood of the home or house by creating a more welcoming place that people are always interested and willing to spend time at your place, because your home breathes such sweet serenity and comfort.
There are a lot of ways to create such an environment, but I will be going through a few practical steps that you can get started on by yourself;
1. BUILD AN ENTRANCE

We all know a lot of people judge a book by its cover, that is why the first step I would advice every single home owner, be it an apartment or a house to build a beautiful and welcoming entrance, a lot of us just leave the entrance to our home plane and void of activity, you do not have to bring in a fountain to get your home welcoming, you could add a few twists to the regular look of your entrance.
·        Introduce a porch seat; this is easy to do, it brings activity to your entrance and also makes it welcoming, a visitor could easily wait for you outside because of the provided seat.
·        Place some plants around your door; these plants are actually cheap, you could place 3-5 pots around our door and newly introduced seat, but you have to select the right breed of plants, email me for more information.
·        Get a tough foot mat; you need a tough foot mat just before the tender welcome mat in front of your door, am sure people get dirt on your welcome mat a lot, the tough foot mat relieves you of the stress of having to dust each day also, gives your visitor an impression that you are neat and well organized.
·        Get a doorbell; as much as we know about door bells, very few people have one at their front door, they prefer all that loud knocking, there is even a recently invented digital door bell with a camera and speakerphone inside, that allows the home owner connect to his or her phone, so when you are away from home, and someone rings your door bell, you get a regular face call on your phone, email me for more info on that.

2. DO SOME LIGHT LANDSCAPING
This is an obvious step especially for those who have a compound to themselves, there are basically two types of landscaping, hard and soft, when I say light landscaping, I simply mean doing a little bit of both by;
·        Break down some concrete; a lot of people have hard concrete all over their plot, which is quit boring and just uncomfortable, you need to break down some parts and introduce greenery around some parts, or place planter pots around them. To do it right, email me for more info

·         Get some light rooted trees; there are trees that actually take very little time to grow, some of which have very light roots that do not go too deep to affect the foundation of your building.
And finally
3.  CLEAN AND ORGANIZE YOUR HOME

·        Bring in some centre pieces for your tables or passages within your apartment or house, a small plant is allowed.
·        Get some light furniture to place around the corners, also more pillows for the living room furniture.
·        Introduce decorative mirror panels in some areas, preferably in your ante rooms, toilet areas, recess rooms; this has a psychological effect on people as seen in banks, offices, and the likes.
In conclusion,
In case you are like me and you really do not like people hanging around, it is still at your advantage to have your house or apartment breathing such serenity and comfort, especially after the day’s hustle, you want to have peace, calm and quiet home, you can make your place a sweet haven for your pleasure. Most of us do not understand that very rigid environment have psychological effects on us as humans, it could go a long way to add to the stress at times, I know some of us do not feel comfortable even in our own home, that is why we are usually willing to go on that weekend getaway we cannot afford, to avoid this why not buy the idea?
